What's New in Google SGE?

In the October 2023 update, Google SGE introduced two new capabilities from its search engine: generating images and drafts using AI. For a detailed explanation, please read below:

1. Generating Images with Google AI

With the latest SGE, users can input keywords or desired image concepts, and instantly Google AI will generate images according to their requests.

As demonstrated on Google's blog page, users can describe the image they want to generate, for example: “Image of a capybara wearing a chef's hat cooking.”

Next, Google will generate four images that can be selected and edited as desired. This is a significant step in realizing creativity, whether for personal, educational, or professional purposes.

Google also understands the importance of protecting copyrights and preventing image misuse. Therefore, every image generated through SGE will automatically be equipped with an embedded watermark.

This is aimed at providing protection and clarity about image ownership.

2. Draft Writing with Google AI

In addition to generating images, SGE can now be used to produce draft writing requested by users. Here is an overview of this update:

In the above experiment, we used the query “Write a note to a chef asking when the food is ready.”

Users can modify the displayed results, such as shortening them and changing the tone to be simpler or more casual. With this feature, users can more easily produce the writing they need more quickly.

Conclusion

Currently, the SGE feature is only available in English in the United States, but it is hoped that Google will soon expand its reach to other regions worldwide.

By continuing to innovate, Google is committed to providing a more interactive, beneficial search experience that supports user creativity around the world.
