Google Bard Newest Feature on September 2023

Google's AI platform continues to evolve and advance its capabilities. In September, Google Bard released a major update. To discover what's new on this platform, please read on until the end.

Google Bard has recently introduced new features in September 2023. In this update, three features were introduced to enhance Bard, namely Bard extensions, integration between Google applications and services, and the Google It feature for result verification.

Key Takeaways
  • Google Bard has been updated with three major features: application integration, installable extensions for Google services, and Google It.
  • Google Bard now connects with various Google applications and services, including Gmail, Docs, Drive, Google Maps, YouTube, Google Flights, and hotels.
  • Bard extensions allow users to utilize Bard within other applications and services.
  • Users can also verify results provided by Bard with the Google It feature.

Google Bard, a large language model from Google AI, released a major update in September 2023. This update includes three key features: the ability to connect to Google apps and services, support for extensions, and the Google It feature.

What's New?

The September update for Google Bard includes the following three main features:

1. Connecting Bard to Google Apps and Services

Now, Bard can connect to various Google applications and services. This means users can utilize Bard to search for and display relevant information from everyday Google tools like Gmail, Docs, Drive, Google Maps, YouTube, Google Flights, and hotels.

Even if the required information is scattered across different applications and services, Bard can integrate it for the user.

For example, a user can request Bard to "Find all flights from Surabaya to Jakarta on October 10 and send the results to my email." Bard will then search for flights on Google Flights and send the results to the user's email.

Alternatively, users can instruct Bard with requests like "Find all documents in my Drive that mention the word 'budget' and create a new spreadsheet summarizing financial metrics."

Bard will search for relevant documents in Drive and create a new spreadsheet summarizing key financial metrics.

2. Google Bard Extensions

In this update, Bard now includes extensions, offering new ways to interact and collaborate with Bard. These tools allow users to use Bard within other Google applications and services.

For instance, there's a Bard extension for Gmail that enables users to compose and translate emails. Additionally, there's an extension for Google Docs that allows users to write text, translate documents, and create various types of creative content.

Bard extensions are still in development but have the potential to enhance the utility of Bard in the future.

3. Google It Feature for Result Verification

Besides connecting Bard with extensions, this update allows users to check the results provided by Bard with the Google It feature.

When users click the Google It button, Bard will search the internet for sources that support the statement, enabling users to verify the accuracy of the presented information.

Here are examples of result verification with the Google It feature. Blue highlights indicate similar results can be found, while orange highlights indicate different or unsourceable information.

Potential SEO Implications

With this latest update, there are SEO implications to consider. Google Bard will attach the sources of the information it provides to users. These sources come in various forms, including text and links.

This feature can aid in building brand awareness for websites referenced by Google Bard. Including the name of the source website can help drive traffic to websites that Google Bard uses as references.

This feature makes it easier for users who want to learn more information and continue their journey to the websites that Google Bard has used as references.

Including the name of the source website can help drive traffic to the websites that have been used as sources by Google Bard.
