Psikotesia: cmlabs x LPTUI to Develop a Digital Psychological Assessment Platform

We put this commitment into action through a collaboration with Lembaga Psikologi Terapan Universitas Indonesia (LPTUI) to develop Psikotesia, a digital psychological assessment platform specifically designed for Indonesian Migrant Worker Candidates (CPMI) across Indonesia.

Psikotesia is designed to provide digital access to psychological assessments while maintaining the quality of the assessment instruments.

Through this collaboration, cmlabs contributes its expertise in digital technology development, while LPTUI brings its applied psychology expertise and provides psychological assessment instruments tailored to CPMI needs. Read more below!

About Psikotesia & Its Key Advantages

Conducting psychological assessments in person often comes with challenges, particularly for participants facing limitations in distance, time, or access to assessment locations.

This also applies to Indonesian Migrant Worker Candidates (CPMI), who must undergo psychological assessments as part of the requirements for working abroad. CPMI come from various regions across Indonesia with different levels of access to resources, making accessibility an important consideration in the assessment process.

To address these challenges, LPTUI and cmlabs are collaborating to develop Psikotesia, a digital psychological assessment platform that allows participants to take tests online while maintaining assessment quality, validity, and ethical standards.

Designed to accommodate both individual participants and institutional registrations, Psikotesia also considers platform scalability, organisational workflows, and potential integration with related digital ecosystems.

Features Available on Psikotesia

To help participants complete their assessments and access the information they need, Psikotesia offers a range of features to support the assessment process, including:

1. Integrated Dashboard

Through a single dashboard, participants can view available tests, check schedules and test durations, see the number of questions, and review their test history. This allows them to understand each assessment stage and prepare before starting a test.

2. Anti-Cheating Detection Features

To maintain assessment integrity, Psikotesia includes dedicated monitoring features that can detect potential cheating during psychological assessments, including

• Face Recognition: Verifies participants' faces before the assessment begins to confirm their identity.
• Tab Switching Detection: Detects when participants switch from the test tab to another tab during an assessment.
• Screenshot Attempt Detection: Detects attempts to take screenshots while a test is in progress.
• Application Focus Detection: Detects when participants leave or lose focus on the test application.
• Face Detection: Identifies when a participant's face is not visible or cannot be detected by the camera during an assessment.

3. Identity Verification

Both participants and administering institutions can rely on Psikotesia's identity verification feature to help maintain assessment integrity. It helps ensure that the person taking the assessment matches the registered participant, making the psychological assessment process more accountable.

4. Digital Certificates

After completing the test, participants can access a digital certificate containing their assessment results, including scores and achievement levels, along with a mechanism to verify its authenticity.

Beyond Individual Use, Psikotesia Supports Institutional Needs

Psikotesia is being developed not only for individual users but also to address organisational needs in managing and administering psychological assessments more efficiently.

In the selection of Indonesian migrant worker candidates, for example, institutions need to manage participants, ensure each assessment stage follows the required procedures, and organise assessment results systematically.

With Psikotesia, these processes can be more efficient as assessment information is managed within a single system. Institutions can also reduce reliance on manual processes that may be time-consuming and make data management more challenging as participant numbers grow.

Psikotesia is also being prepared with potential integration in mind, allowing it to work alongside systems already used by relevant institutions. This can streamline data exchange and reduce repetitive administrative tasks.

Looking ahead, Psikotesia aims to support a wider range of assessment needs across Indonesia's migrant worker ecosystem, including potential adoption by the Ministry of Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection (KP2MI) and Indonesian Migrant Worker Placement Companies (P3MI).

The Director General of Placement at KP2MI has also expressed appreciation to LPTUI and cmlabs for developing an online psychological testing platform accessible to CPMI across Indonesia.
