Bing Chat Has Been Rebranded to Copilot

In a Microsoft blog post, Bing Chat is said to have undergone a transformation and emerged with a new identity called Copilot. This change aims to harmonize Bing with a broader range of Microsoft artificial intelligence products.

Microsoft's Rebranding

Bing Chat, a feature powered by ChatGPT from Microsoft, was launched earlier this year and has handled over 1 billion prompts from users. Unfortunately, Microsoft has recently decided to rebrand this feature as Copilot.

Currently, Bing is no longer positioned as "your AI-powered copilot for the web." However, Microsoft Bing still provides users with an integrated Search and chat experience under the name Copilot.

The official global launch of this change will commence in December, as stated by Microsoft in the shared blog post.

Acknowledging that not everyone may prefer Search and Chat on the same platform, Microsoft introduced Copilot on a separate page (Stand-alone site) similar to Chat GPT. Those interested in exploring this alternative can access it through https://copilot.microsoft.com/

Rebranding Goals

Quoting from Microsoft's blog post, they emphasize that this rebranding is part of an effort to unify the Copilot experience. Microsoft indicates that to enhance Copilot's capabilities, flexibility, and creativity, they will add support for OpenAI GPTs.

This means that by leveraging GPTs, users can utilize Copilot to become a more effective and specific assistant in performing tasks based on user input.

Microsoft's Copilot chatbot is also used across various products, including Microsoft 365, Edge, Windows, and others. Some of them can be used for free, while others are paid.
