Google Bard Updated and Powered by Gemini Pro

The latest development in Google Bard introduces users to the capabilities of Gemini Pro within the AI framework. This update represents a significant stride in user-centric AI integration and robust multimodal experiences.

 

Gemini Pro in Bard

According to information shared on Google's official blog, Bard has undergone a comprehensive update with the incorporation of support for Gemini Pro. This update is considered the most substantial enhancement Bard has received in 2023.

Although the rollout of Bard's update with Gemini Pro came in December 2023, it is currently being deployed specifically for English-language prompts. With Gemini, Bard is set to undergo improvements in machine capabilities related to reasoning, planning, and understanding.

Scheduled for an early launch in 2024, Bard Advanced promises to elevate the user experience further by introducing Gemini Ultra. This advanced version is expected to enhance prompt comprehension and capacity.

 

Benchmarking Google Gemini

Before its public announcement, Google subjected Gemini Pro to a series of benchmark tests based on industry standards. The results were remarkably impressive, with Gemini Pro surpassing GPT-3.5 in six out of eight benchmark trials.

Gemini Pro demonstrated superiority in Massive Multitask Language Understanding (MMLU), a crucial metric for evaluating large AI models, and GSM8K, a test measuring basic mathematical reasoning.

Users can now experience Bard with Gemini Pro for text-based prompts, with support for other modalities soon to follow. This update will initially be available in English across more than 170 countries and regions, with expansion into additional languages and regions, such as Europe, shortly.

Currently undergoing extensive security checks, Google plans to launch a beta testing program before making Bard Advanced available to the wider user base early next year.
