BRICS Industrial Innovation Contest 2025

Since its inception in 2020 through 2024, the BRICS Industrial Innovation Contest has produced numerous outstanding projects with global potential. In 2025, the competition returned with the Indonesia Round, which took place on August 15, 2025, at Podomoro University, Jakarta.

The Indonesia Round became a platform for local companies, startups, and innovators to present their breakthrough ideas, serving as the entry point to the global stage and offering a chance to compete in the international finals in Xiamen, China.

For the competition’s scope, participants could submit innovative works in five main categories, including:

  2. Innovative Applications: Case studies on the application of new technologies (e.g., 5G, AI, Industrial Internet, Blockchain, Power Electronics).
  3. Innovative Standards: Proposals for new technical standards in the fields of R&D and applications of new industrial revolution technologies.

  5. Innovative Ideas: Conceptual solutions that are creative, divergent, and relevant to the latest technological developments.

In addition to these categories, the competition also highlights five key focus areas aligned with global industrial developments, namely:

  3. General Aviation
  4. New Energy Industry
  5. Industrial Design

This year, more than 50 companies and institutions from various countries took part, showcasing their innovative projects within one of these five focus areas.

Each participant was given 10 minutes to present their flagship solutions before an international panel of judges and audience, with evaluations based on innovation, market relevance, and potential impact on global industrial development.
