Course Info on SERP

Google launched rich results for course information using structured data in November 2023. This feature allows websites to display richer course information in Google search results such as course titles, course providers, ratings, and prices.

In its initial documentation, Google explained that this feature was only available for the US region and used English queries. However, some Google users have encountered this feature in various countries with English queries.

This was first reported by Shameem Adhikarath, a user from the India region. Through their account, Shameem stated, "Looks like Google's course info rich results are now live globally."

Google Documentation

It is known that Google has updated its documentation by stating that this feature is available in English in all countries and will be expanded to other languages in the future.

“The course info rich result is available in English in all regions where Google Search is available. We hope to support more non-English courses in the future.”

Once available in various languages, this feature will be very beneficial for users searching for course information in their local language.

This feature will also make it easier for course providers to attract more audiences to their pages through the rich result feature.

Here are some pieces of information that can be displayed in rich result course info:

  • Course title.
  • Course provider.
  • Rating.
  • Price.
  • Duration.
  • Description.
  • Materials.
  • Curriculum.
  • Requirements.

With this more comprehensive information, Google users can make informed decisions about the courses they want to take.

If you are a course provider, you need to optimize your course pages using structured data as recommended by Google. To implement structured data for course info, you can follow the guidelines provided by Google.
